Uses
Montelukast is used for:
Asthma (long-term control) – to prevent wheezing and shortness of breath
Allergic rhinitis – for seasonal or year-round allergies
Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction – prevents breathing problems during physical activity
Allergic skin reactions (sometimes used off-label)
Dosage
Adults (≥15 years): 10 mg once daily in the evening
Children (6–14 years): 5 mg chewable tablet once daily
Children (2–5 years): 4 mg chewable tablet or granules once daily
