what is Follicular Unit EXtraction ?

FUE is a modern and widely used hair transplant technique in which individual hair follicles are extracted directly from the donor area—usually the back or sides of the scalp—and transplanted to bald or thinning areas. Unlike FUT, FUE does not require removing a strip of scalp, which means there is no linear scar, only tiny dot-like marks that fade over time.

Procedure

Donor Preparation: The donor area is trimmed, and local anesthesia is applied to ensure a painless procedure. Follicle Extraction: Using a micro-punch tool (0.6–1.0 mm), individual hair follicles are carefully extracted one by one. Recipient Site Creation: Small slits or incisions are made in the bald area using fine needles or blades, at precise angles and depths to ensure natural hair growth. Implantation: Extracted grafts are implanted into these prepared slits with careful attention to hair direction and density. The strip is divided into hundreds or thousands of follicular units under high magnification. These grafts are implanted into tiny incisions in the recipient area, ensuring natural-looking growth.

benefits

No Linear Scar: Only tiny, almost invisible scars remain. Faster Recovery: Healing usually takes 5–7 days. Natural Results: Hair grows in its natural angle and direction. Minimal Pain & Discomfort: Less invasive than FUT. Versatile: Can be used for scalp, beard, mustache, and eyebrow transplants.
